This short trip Tibet and Lhasa short vacation, who does not have enough holiday. Lhasa trip offers to see the highlights of Tibet and Lhasa. You fly or drive across the Himalaya to Lhasa, where you have plenty of time to visit the main sights in and around the town including the Potala Palace, the Norbulingka (the Dalai Lama’s summer palace) and the Jorkhang Temple which contains Jowo Shakyamuni, the most holy statue to all Tibetan Buddhists. You also visit the major monasteries in the Lhasa Valley including Samye, Drepung and Sera. You then drive along the Friendship Highway to Nepal, one of the most spectacular road journeys in the world. You visit the towns and monasteries in both Gyantse and Shigatse and then have a spectacular drive across the Tibetan Plateau with great views of Everest from the north side and Shishapangma, the only 8,000m mountain situated totally in Tibet. Finally you drive through the Himalaya and down into a spectacular gorge back to Nepal and Kathmandu. You can also fly back from Lhasa to Kathmandu.

After it showers you with the best of Lhasa, this tour finishes with a visit to the magnificent holy lake Nam-tso with a glimpse of the nomad life of the north.

Detail Itinerary of Lhasa Namtso Holy Lake Tour

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m.)
You will be received by our representatives and will be transferred to hotel. After checking into our rooms, stay Overnight in hotel Kathmandu.

 

Day 02: Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour.
Half day Kathmandu valley sightseeing tour of three places: Kathmandu: Swayambu Nath Stupa, famous hindu Temple of Pashupatinath and buddhist pilgrims of Bouddhanath Stupa , Overnight at hotel.

: Fly from kathmandu to Lhasa (3650m). Transfer to hotel overnight stay at hotel. Free day -acclimitization

Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa by taking train or airplane
Lhasa airport or Train station pick-up by our local English-speaking tour guide and private van, then, transfer you to the hotel (3 star hotel). The rest of the day is free on your own.

Day 02: Full day Lhasa visiting to Potala Palace , Jokhang Temple, Barkhor street
Hotel pick-up in the morning, then spend the whole morning to visit the famous Potala palace and explore the mythical halls, exhibition chambers, figures of the Buddha.
In the afternoon, touring to the holy temple in Tibet – the Johkang Temple, which was built during songtsen gonpo’s period by princess of wencheng in Great Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD).
The circular pilgrim way around Jokhang temple is named barkhor and later flourished, forming the embryo of the city. The barkhor market is one of the most famous sites throughout Tibet, and it is the ideal place to buy traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and traditional Tibetan clothes, etc.

Day 03: Full day Lhasa tour to Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery
Drepung monastery is located at the foot of a holy mountain and was established by Jamyang Choeje in 1416. It was used to the home of 10,000 monks and it was the centre government before fifth dalai lama and then, the government was moved to the famous Potala palace. later on, you can also visit the Nechung monastery which located 1km southeast of Drepung and is the abode of the protector deity pehar and the seat of the state Oracle of Tibet.
In the afternoon, go on visiting to the Sera monastery which was founded in 1419 by Jamchen Choeje (a follower to Songtsen Gonpo). The highlight is that the Monk debate is held there in the courtyard at around 6:00-7:30.

Day 04: tour from Lhasa to Namtso Lake (220km, 4 hours driving)
Hotel pick-up and check-out by our guide and driver at 8:00 am, then leaving Lhasa to Namtso Holy Lake. While on the way, beautiful Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain will accompany us. Today, we will have chances to escort at the grassland, visit the nomad family and walk into the tent to drink the fresh yak milk, talk with the Tibetan Children, etc.
Namtso Lake is the Heavenly lake which is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and the highest salt lake, as well. You can do a relax trekking around the lakeside and Tashi Island.
The scenery on the lakeshore is splendid, the clear sky is so clean that you will see all the stars twinkling and shinning, so close to you as if you could stretch your hands to pick them down. Namtso lake is actually the lake in the sky, it is about 5,000 meters high and lies on the highest plateau in the world.

Day 05: touring from Namtso lake to Yangpachen hot-spring and Lhasa (220km, 4hours driving)
Free morning on your own, you can trek along the lake to Tashi Island to explore meditation caves .Later on, drive to Dmxung for lunch.
In the afternoon, touring at Yangpachen hot spring while on the way back to Lhasa.
Yangpachen is famous for its richness of terrestrial heat. Not only Yangpachen owns common hot springs and fountains, but also various geysers, boiling springs, and hot-water lakes, which is rare in the world. Now it has a thermoelectricity plant, green houses, and hot spring baths, attracting more and more tourists. Drive back to Lhasa after visiting.
